Stavros Argyropoulos and Babis Lyras, animal scientists, and Meletis Giannakos, farmer, put a bet to place chicken meat in supermarkets\u2019 shelves as it used to be: genuine, original full of taste, but also certified, safe and healthy. Combining scientific knowledge with agricultural experience, they managed to introduce for the first time to the Greek market, fresh certified organic chicken.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" alignright size-full wp-image-7\" style=\"float: right; margin-left: 8px; margin-right: 8px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.biogreco.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/partners_biogreco_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"203\" height=\"305\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.biogreco.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/partners_biogreco_3.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.biogreco.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/partners_biogreco_3-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 203px) 100vw, 203px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">During the first years, the production was very small. However, soon the consumers began to recognize the uniqueness and the quality of the product and thus <strong>BIOGRECO <\/strong>team managed to develop and improve its infrastructure. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Nowadays BIOGRECO comprise 4 family poultry farms, the collaboration of which leads to the production of about 200,000 organic chickens per year; this quantity corresponds approximately to 70% of organic chickens\u2019 production in Greece. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">BIOGRECO has its sophisticated slaughter and packaging facilities, private distribution network and automated organic animal feed factory. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">The production exclusively of organic chickens was the choice of <strong>BIOGRECO <\/strong>team since its foundation and that because we believe that organic products are not simply a \u201ctrend of the market\u201d but probably a unique proposition for sustainable agriculture in small-scale exploitations with<strong> respect to the environment<\/strong> and the <strong>sustainability<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"886\" height=\"191\" class=\" size-full wp-image-72\" src=\"https:\/\/www.biogreco.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/3_photos_zootrofes_agroktimata_sfageio_biogreco_en.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.biogreco.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/3_photos_zootrofes_agroktimata_sfageio_biogreco_en.png 886w, https:\/\/www.biogreco.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/3_photos_zootrofes_agroktimata_sfageio_biogreco_en-300x65.png 300w, https:\/\/www.biogreco.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/3_photos_zootrofes_agroktimata_sfageio_biogreco_en-768x166.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 886px) 100vw, 886px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; During the first years, the production was very small.
